Sats

I held out for as long as I could, but I just couldn't hold out any longer. I'm not sure how long any of these may or may not be up here, but I urge you to go out and grab this album when it's released. I'll spare you the full review and keep it to my impressions. Lots of compression and processing on this one, but it really works. Absent are the odd, awkward moments that seemed to plague all of their previous releases. You know what I'm talking about, right? There weren't any moments where I found myself asking, "why", and I feel like that's always characterized my experience with their past releases, regardless of how I feel about their overall quality. The first four tracks had me sweating, and the rest is far from average. Grab a good set of headphones while you're at it; the experience improves.

Metric - Waves

The physical release is 4/14, but you can preorder at I Love Metric, goodies included.

There's not much to be said about the new Royksopp release that hasn't already made it through the blogs. The superb guesting (Anneli Drecker of Bel Canto, Lykke Li, Karin Dreijer Andersson of The Knife/Fever Ray...oh, and Robyn) on this is what's kept me coming back - I won't lose interest as quickly this time around.
